Racebets Review

Racebets.com are a new name for punters to conjure with but they are set to make a big splash in the world of sports betting.

Join Racebets via CheltenhamFestival.net using Racebets promo code MAXCASH to get a £50 free bet on any race markets ahead of the Cheltenham Festival!

The company, RaceBets International Gaming Ltd to be exact, is based in Malta and they hold a licence issued by the Maltese Lotteries & Gaming Authority, as well as a German bookmaker licence.

Their stated goal on their website is to “to allow customers to place bets on worldwide horse and greyhound racing online”. That means they are very much on our radar here at RacingTips and, having given them a thorough once over (please read on), they very much get our approval, with their daily promotions and offers taking our eye in particular.

Background
As mentioned, Racebets.com are relative newcomers to the world of sports betting, having been founded in 2006 as a daughter company of online sportsbook bet-at-home.com. Since 2009 they've been totally independent, though, and in 2010 they moved from Germany to Malta. They are 40% owned by the German Racing Association, but that's not apparent from their website and UK racing is clearly their main emphasis.
Odds and markets
Let's just say we were pleasantly surprised. We half expected the homepage to be dominated by German racing (due to their connections to that country), but on the contrary and we were rather taken aback by their promotions, which of course to apply to UK racing too - more on those further down the page.

You won't find their prices advertised on any odds comparison site, at least not yet, so it does require a visit – perhaps that's a deliberate ploy to get us there in the first place? Still, they seem reasonably competitive on the races they do price up and clearly bet to tight margins, giving us punters a fair crack of the whip.

Where they do fall down perhaps is in the number of markets on offer - just the bog standard stuff available – but this is made up by their coverage of international racing, or should we say 'global' racing as they seem to have every continent and territory covered.
Website
It's refreshing to find a sportsbook totally dedicated to horse racing, even though it takes some getting used to. We say that only because it's not your typical format, but it's well worth spending the time familiarising yourself with its features and speed-wise it's right up there with the best.

We like the way the horse racing is split between 'today' and 'ante-post' and finding the race you want is a painless procedure, as is getting a bet on. With the emphasis on global racing, there is always a race about to go off and the race cards are nicely laid out, with information such as jockey, trainer and weight clearly displayed. There's even a 'Race Preview' under each race in case you need any last minute inspiration.

All in all, it's a winner with us and we highly recommend you pay them a visit to find out for yourself.
Customer service
We’ve not had reason to contact them up to now but they seem perfectly accessible judging by their 'Contact' page, which includes a telephone number for their German and English clients. It's not 24/7, admittedly,  but seven days a week between 9am and 6pm (CET) is far from shabby either.
