On the eve of the Cheltenham Festival, bookmaker Ladbrokes say Willie Mullins-mania has swept across the nation.

The powerful duo of Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh are no strangers to taking millions out of the bookies’ satchels and the bookmaker fear the same on Tuesday.

Ladbrokes make it 10/1 that Mullins has four or more winners on the opening day of the festival, with Klassical Dream in the Supreme and Benie Des Dieux in the Mares Hurdle expected to cause the most damage.

“Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins are the ultimate dream team and when the two team up, punters back them all the way,” Ladbrokes’ Nicola McGeady told CheltenhamFestival.net

“The pairing have the ability to make or break our week and this year will be no different.”

This week is the biggest betting week of the year, with Ladbrokes estimating a betting bonanza of £300million to be gambled across the industry in Ireland and the UK.

Away from the betting ring, the bookie is offering odds of 4/6 that over 265,000 pints of Guinness will be knocked back over the four days.
