What was billed as a thrilling three-horse showdown in the 2020 Champion Chase, turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Bookies found it hard to split Altior, Chacun Pour Soi and Defi Du Seuil in the build-up. However, after Altior’s withdrawal the day before, and Chacun Pour Soi’s late removal left Defi Du Seuil the 2/5 favourite.

The capacity crowd on Ladies’ Day were left in shock after the race, as 20/1 shot Politologue made all to win the 2020 Champion Chase in convincing fashion. Barry Geraghty never looked happy onboard the favourite at any stage, and Defi Du Seuil trailed over the line a well-beaten fourth.

On the back of that surprise result, bet365 made Chacun Pour Soi the 5/1 favourite in their 2021 Champion Chase betting. Two-time winner, Altior will be 11-years-old when next year’s Festival rolls around, but bet365 is still offering a single-figure price on Nicky Henderson’s star, with Defi Du Seuil a general 10/1 shot to gain Festival redemption in 2021.

A Plus Tard, who came up just short in the Ryanair, is a general 12/1 shot in the 2021 Champion Chase betting. Bet365 make this year’s surprise winner, Politologue a 16/1 shot, with Marsh Novices Chase champion, Samcro a little further adrift on 16s.

Put The Kettle On narrowly got the better of Fakir D’Oudairies in the Arkle at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, and bet365 list both at 20/1 in the 2021 Champion Chase betting. Nicky Henderson’s Mister Fisher and Paul Nicholls’ Greaneteen can be found at 33/1 with bet365.
