2021 Champion Hurdle betting – Epatante leads the way

Epatante 2020 Champion Hurdle Cheltenham Festival

Epatante (centre) clears the last on her way to winning the 2020 Champion Hurdle.

2021 Champion Hurdle betting. Epatante is the early favourite for with race sponsors Unibet to win the Champion Hurdle at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.

Epatante was well-backed heading into what looked, on paper, to be a wide-open Champion Hurdle. In the end, Nicky Henderson’s mare proved herself to be head and shoulders above her rivals, surging clear after a cracking jump at the last to beat Sharjah and Darver Star.

Unibet was the first to react following the race, listing Epatante as their 5/1 favourite in the 2021 Champion Hurdle betting.

Another big winner from the 2020 Cheltenham Festival was Envoi Allen, who lived up to his reputation with a sparkling victory in the Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle. While it’s more likely Gordon Elliott will send his budding star over fences next season, Unibet is taking no chances, listing Envoi Allen in their 2021 Champion Hurdle betting at 5/1.

Goshen looked well on-course to rout his rivals in the Triumph Hurdle. Yet, a calamitous jump at the last saw Jamie Moore flung from the saddle at the final flight. Although he didn’t figure in the results for the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, it’s clear Gary Moore has a very serious horse on his hands, and Unibet has thrown Goshen into the Champion Hurdle market on a price of 6/1.

Shishkin got the better of Abacadabras in the opening race of the Festival, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. Abacadabras can be found at 8/1 to win the 2021 Champion Hurdle, with Shishkin a little further adrift on 14s, which indicates Unibet think he’s certain to go over fences next term.

Honeysuckle took down Benie Des Dieux to win the Mares’ Hurdle, and Henry De Bromhead’s star mare has been made a 9/1 shot in the 2021 Champion Hurdle betting. Benie Des Dieux can be found at 20/1, just behind stablemate Concertista, who entered Unibet’s market for the 2021 Champion Hurdle after a stunning victory in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.

Two more winners from the 2020 Cheltenham Festival can be found at 20/1. Burning Victory, who was on hand to capitalise when Goshen exited the Triumph Hurdle, and Saint Roi, who bolted up in the County Hurdle on day four. Saldier and Buveur D’Air were both forced to miss this year’s meeting with injury, and they can be found at 25/1 in Unibet’s 2021 Champion Hurdle betting.
