The Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle Race

Formerly known as the Spa Novices’ Hurdle, the Albert Bartlett gives budding stayers the chance to show off their stamina at the Cheltenham Festival. Moulin Riche won the first edition of the Albert Bartlett in 2005 and he was joined on the roll of honour by Bobs Worth, who went on to win the Gold Cup two seasons later.

Each novices’ hurdling will be severely tested and staying power will be at a premium, as the runners round the turn for home and pound up the hill at the end of a gruelling, three mile trip.
